According to a global survey, Vienna’s excellent infrastructure (基础设施), safe streets and good public health service make it the nicest place to live in the world. Baghdad (巴格达) is firmly put in the last place.

In each single year since 2005 so far, Vienna has been the world’s number one destination of international meetings, attracting about five million tourists a year.

Vienna, the Austrian capital, with its wonderful buildings, public parks and large bicycle network, has recently reduced the cost of its yearly public transport ticket to 1 euro (欧元) a day.

Serious crime (犯罪) doesn’t often happen in Vienna. With a population of around 1.7 million, the city regularly tops global quality of life surveys. It is the 9th largest city by population in the European Union.

Auckland, Sydney, Wellington, Melbourne and Perth make it into the top 20 for quality of life in 2011 while Singapore is the highest-ranking Asian city in the 25th place.
