强调结构是高中英语中的重要语法现象，也是学习的难点和高考的热点。在学习强调结构时，我认为应注意以下六个方面。
一、强调结构的基本构成。
It is/was +被强调部分+that/who+句子其余部分，被强调分可以是主语、宾语和状语等，但不可以强调谓语部分。
（1）It is the ability to do the job that matters not where you come from or what you are.
（2）It was with great joy that he received the news that his lost daughter had been found.
（3）It was Tom who I met in the park yesterday.
二、强调结构中is与was的选用。
一般来说，强调现在或将来的情况选用is，强调过去的情况用was。
（1）It is in Beijing that the 2008 Olympic Games will be held.
（2）It was six years ago that he joined the Party.
三、强调结构中who与that的选用。
若强调部分指人选用who或that都可以，若强调部分不指人，则只能用that。
（1）It was in a small mountainous village that he was born.
（2）It was Tom who was absent from class yes－terday.
四、“not...until...”的强调结构。
在强调“not…until…”中由until引导的时间状语从句时要用“It was not until…+that…”结构。注意：until引导的时间状语从句语序不变，that后面的句子采用陈述语序，且谓语动词用肯定形式。
It was not until the operation was over that he left the hospital.
It was not until the war was over that he returned to his homeland.
五、强调结构的一般疑问句式。
其结构为Is/was+被强调部分+that/who+其余部分？
Was it you that I saw last night at the party?
Was it in 1914 that World War One broke out?
六、强调结构的特殊疑问句式。
其结构为特殊疑问词+was/is it +that+其余部分?
Where was it that you were born?
What is it that you want me to say?
Who was it that broke the window?
